I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida for 16 years and I have been in the field of Mental Health Counseling for a total of 25 years. Additionally, I am a current and active member of the American Psychological Association (APA).
I obtained my M.A. Degree in Child Development/Clinical Developmental Psychology from Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts in 2000 and I obtained my B.S Degree in Psychology from Florida State University, in Tallahassee, Florida in 1994.
I have been published in, “Adolescence in America An Encyclopedia Volume 1” and in “Adolescence in America An Encyclopedia Volume 2” Copyright 2001.
My experience includes Individual Counseling, Family Counseling, and Marriage/Relationship Counseling in Wilderness Residential Programs, Residential Programs, Outpatient Programs, School-Based Programs, Home Counseling, Telephone Counseling, and Private Practice. I have counseled individuals from every age, background, and life circumstance.
My mission in developing and opening Comprehensive Counseling Services, LLC (CCS, LLC) is to be able to provide counseling in a way that will reach as many individuals in need. My fundamental view is, “Counseling ought to fit into people’s lives; not interfere.” “Counseling ought to be available to all regardless of any and all emotional and mental health needs.” If you have been turned away before due to your specific needs, including; mental health needs and/or circumstance, the appointment times that just don’t fit your schedule, financial concerns, or you have finally taken that first really difficult step to reach out to a counselor just to be turned away because a practice is not accepting new clients. My practice mission, goal, and intention are to, “NOT TURN YOU AWAY”.
My appointment hours were created to be as flexible as YOU need. Women, men, mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, entire family units, adolescents, and even young school-aged children have asked me as a Counselor, “Why don’t counselors offer regular evening hours?” or “Why don’t counselors offer counseling appointments on the weekends?” “Why do I have to miss school, sports, dance, and afterschool activities.” “How can my husband and I both get the same time off of work to obtain the counseling that we desperately want and need to try to keep our marriage and family together?” “We just can’t coordinate our works schedules with ourselves and with the counselor’s schedule.” “We can’t afford to use our paid time off to attend counseling sessions or not get paid at all.”
Be this as it may, CCS, LLC, appointment hours have been set to assist you with each and every one of these obstacles preventing you from getting the counseling help that you need.
I offer counseling appointments in the evenings Monday-Friday and offer counseling appointments upon request on Saturdays. All you need to do is ask and we will find a time that works for you, your children, your family, and your significant others.
I believe that counseling is a collaborative effort between the Counselor and the Client(s). I am an extremely empathetic, compassionate, genuine, non-judgemental counselor who incorporates many treatment approaches and types of therapies that I will use for each of my client’s very specific individual needs. I am a very client-centered counselor who has years of experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating my clients pertaining to a wide variety of emotional and mental health needs. I am very goal-oriented with my clients and strive to give my clients the “tools” that they need to become their best selves, to overcome past and current traumas, to re-structure and re-learn positive coping skills and mindsets about themselves, relationships, and even the environments that surround them.
My primary goal is for all of my clients to know that I am ALWAYS here for you; I will NEVER turn you away, and I will ALWAYS want to help you.
